UPDATED: Risk of Severe Storms Saturday!

We'll have a risk of severe storms Saturday, especially Saturday afternoon as a warm front , followed by low pressure and a cold front move through the region.  I expect at some point, we'll be placed under a severe weather watch of some type, followed by a pretty good chance we'll see some storms which will likely reach severe levels.  That being said it remains to be seen how bad and how widespread they are.

The main threats will be large hail, along with damaging winds and possible tornadoes, so stay abreast of changing conditions and forecasts through the day, especially the afternoon! 


There are 5 levels of risks: Marginal, Slight, Enhanced, Moderate and High Risk.  Here's what they mean:

Chance of Severe Storms on Sunday

We are watching a chance for severe storms to develop Sunday as a cold front approaches.  Right now, it appears the main threat will be damaging winds, although there is a chance for hail, too.  Right now, we are in the slight to enhanced risk area for severe storms.


There are 5 levels of risks: Marginal, Slight, Enhanced, Moderate and High Risk.  Here's what they mean:

Risk of Severe Storms Today-Tonight!

Watching for possible Severe Storms this afternoon and tonight!  The biggest threats are large hail and damaging winds, however a tornado or 2 can't be ruled out.  Also, heavy rainfall is possible!!!  The NWS Storm Prediction Center has us in the Enhanced Risk area for severe storms.

This is part of the NWS' reclassification of Severe Storms Risks. It used to be only 3 catagories: Slight Risk, Moderate Risk and High Risk. Now, there are 5 levels of risks: Marginal, Slight, Enhanced, Moderate and High Risk.  Here's what they mean:
