Summer Is HERE This Week

Memorial Day may have been only the "traditional" start to summer, but it's going to feel like summer this week, with highs in the upper 80s to near 90 and lows in the mid to upper 60s!  We'll also have a 20 to 40% chance of "pop up" thunderstorms each day. Probably the best days for storms will be Thursday into Friday as low pressure slowly slides toward the region. We are not expecting a decent chance of widespread severe storms at this time, but in this environment, the storms usually can produce lots of lightning, some hail, and if they are slow moving, heavy rainfall amounts.

Meteorological summer begins June 1st (along with the start of "hurricane season.") and the Summer Solstice is June 21st at 5:51AM.  June 21st is the longest day of the year!

Remember, when the power's out, you can still hear our forecasts and live reports on Newstalk 94.7, 95.5, 570AM and 1320AM, along with The Mix 94.7 and Willie 102.1.
