Potential for Severe Storms Wednesday through Friday

There's a chance for severe storms in our area this afternoon into tonight, and now also Thursday night into Friday.  This as a front sags through the area, stalling just to our south, and then edging northward again.  This boundary will be the focal point where storms could develop.

The main threats are high winds, large hail and possibly a few tornadoes.

This afternoon and tonight.  Best chances for severe storms actually appear to be in the Pennyrile area and eastward. Strong lines of storms could develop "bow echoes" producing high winds, large hail and possibly a few tornadoes. With some much moisture in place, there's also a chance for more locally heavy rainfall amounts.

Thursday and Thursday night. chances for severe storms sag a little southward as the front and low pressure are just south of the Purchase Area.  Once again, this will be the focal point for development, with damaging winds, large hail, and possibly a few tornadoes.

Friday. Once again the risk of severe weather appears to sag a little further south, along with the front and low pressure.  High winds and large hail, once again, are the primary threats. There is a chance at least part of this area in the yellow, could be later upgraded to a better chance for severe storms to develop, but that will depend on what happens between now and then.
