Rain Chances and Heat in the Week Ahead.

It will feel a lot more like summertime this week, and we head into a pattern which is more like what we see in typical summer weather mode. With high pressure to our south and east, we'll have a nice southerly flow bringing up plenty of warmth and humidity. For most of the week, we'll have high temperatures in the 90s or close to it.  In fact, on Tuesday and Wednesday, we could have heat index readings near 100!

It should also be drier. Total rainfall for the week should add up to less than a third of an inch, on average.  Of course that does not take into account locally heavier rainfall which could occur in specific areas, should popup storms develop. Drier weather should help farmers.  Over the weekend, I heard about at least one farmer in our area whose wheat is sprouting from the heads because of excess rainfall over the past few weeks.
