Headed For The DEEP FREEZE

The biggest concern all along with this event has NOT been the snow, but rather the brutal cold headed into the area.  These are the coldest temperatures we've seen in almost 20 years. If it doesn't hit you during the night, it certainly will when you get up to start your car in the morning  for your commute.  It'll be close to zero or for many of us BELOW ZERO, with a wind chill of 15-20 BELOW ZERO.  If you kids are catching the bus for school in the morning, you'll need to make sure they stay warm while waiting, either in a vehicle or the house.
The temperature won't come up much during the day either. Many of us will see high temperatures ranging from slightly below zero to the low single digits!  Overnight lows Monday will also bottom out near zero before we finally start "warming up" Tuesday with highs in the teens.

The good news is we should get above freezing on Wednesday.  The bad news is we could see another round of snow/sleet/freezing rain then, into Thursday.  FINALLY on Thursday, we'll be warm enough to have nothing but regular rain.

In the meantime, watch out for possible threats of this brutally cold weather: frozen pipes, frozen wells, dead car batteries, possible hypothermia and frostbite.  Be sure to check on elderly and pets and make sure they have a place to stay warm!
